Retired?

Just catching up on this. Am im retiring? Maybe. Had offers to skate again. Not sure if I can or want to. Things just got all twisted and all I wanted to do is skate. Thats all i joined for, not for another source of drama. Eh oh well win some you lose some. So until I possibly start a new derby career no more derby blog for the time. Thanks for reading;)

a break

its been awhile. not much to write kinda covered it on my other log...an injury has taking me out for the season. so that's pretty much it unfortunately..who knows where ill go from her with derby. i hope back on the track. check out our second to last game tomorrow at 7pm at metrolina expo!

First game of the season.

Sunday will be our first game of the season. We are traveling to Columbia to play the B team.. Misbehaviors;) practice lately has just been amazing!! Scrimmaging and all the drills have been very helpful and effective especially for the new girls! They all slammed me pretty hard tonight! They've come a long way and I'm so excited about it!

Carrie and Emily are really doing well in leading practice and just letting us know what we all need to work on and what we can do to be a more effective player. The feedback they have been giving us is super helpful;) so thanks ladies !

Regina's Sunday morning workouts are no joke either. We've done a few things at inner peaks including a physical assessment and had an on skate workout at breakaway. If I never had to do a pushcart again...I'd be ok with that;)- some things I literally hate doing and feel like I don't have the strength but I never give up. It's so hard but being around all of them and seeing everyone push helps me. I don't wanna be that person. Even though I could just fall out on the ground and kick and scream bc I'm in pain Hahahaha well that's what plays in my head. Haha but I stick with it and the feeling I get from it after is the best feeling ever. And the muscle aches are a good pain. So it's ok;) so anyways just a little bit about what's goin on. A new season 2012!!

So the new season has officially started! I'm so excited! We are at our new facility Which is amazing!! It's for roller hockey and the sport court and seating are amazing! Tuesday at practice we did a lot of hitting and we were all slamming into the walls which are built like a hockey rink. And that noise of slamming reminded me of a hockey game. I love that noise. It's defiantly gonna be a great season there! So many girls are at practice now. If we get in a pace line it literally goes all the way around the track. So when we are doing hitting drills its crazy bc it last forever!!! I was so tired after that dill tuesday. But I loved it.

Emily and Carrie are our new team captains and I am super excited. They just have such a grasp on the game I love learning from them;). I'm looking forward to this season and pray its injury free for all my fellow players and hope we all succeed in all the games! The schedule is awesome and we are playing some really good teams! I'm so excited! 2012 is gonna be a better year for me especially bc I have derby. The bond i have with them just makes me feel not so alone and I know any of them would do anything for anybody. They don't make one person feel left out or not good enough! It's hard to find good people out there like that now!

Anyways we've been working on some awesome drills and endurance and excited to see what the captains have for us as well as the coaches! And I'm excited to keep getting new ladies out there to join us! So if u know
Of anyone at all interested! Let's us know!!!

Holiday on Ice!

So yesterday we went to Holiday on Ice down town Charlotte to help Kelly McKay from 107.9 The Link learn to Ice Skate. Needless to say it was some amazing fun!! She was wearing the funniest things to protect her body from a fall on the ice! She is a really kool person and it was a fun time. Thanks to 107.9 The Link and Kelly McKay for asking The Charlotte Speed Demons to come out and help! Here is a video of the fun we had and some pictures;)
